The February meeting will take place on the 2nd of Feb. We are in our usual place (Building 59, Southampton University), and start at 1pm.

There is no firm plan of talks etc., but if anyone wants to give a talk or demo, we can do it on an ad-hoc basis as we did in January. There will be a Raspberry PI available to play with, as last month.

Chris Malton will (hopefully) give a three-part talk covering the following:

 * Technology in sport
 * Real-time Python
 * The basics of Raspberry Pi and Media (and why you should, or shouldn't!)

And there are also offers of other short talks:

 * Rich Bensley - Starting with MySQL
 * Tim B - From Windows 7 to Linux - Basic setup and CLI (on request).

And as per usual please - if you want internet access - then please mail Chris Malton with your MAC addresses by Wednesday next week (that's the 30th). (In fact MACs can now be sorted out on the day, but it's still easier if you can email them beforehand.)

The Mountbatten Atrium North entrance is currently shut due to a safety issue. Please use the Mountbatten South entrance this weekend. Signage will be in place accordingly.

Welcome to HantsLUG!

.. otherwise known as the Hampshire Linux User Group.

We aim to encourage and support the use of Linux and other free operating systems. We do this in several ways:

There is no requirement to be in Hampshire to join, in fact about half of our members are from outside Hampshire.

The new version of this web site is being developed at http://hantslug.org.uk.

Please see the new WordPress site for details of upcoming and past meetings.
