How about opening up the network and advertising the essid to see if you
can connect that way?

Another one you have probably already thought of... ensure that you do
not restrict access by MAC address and have neglected to include this card!

Have you got any other machines connecting via the wireless access point?

Is this card known good via Windows or another distro (i.e. Knoppix)?
